After graduating from Santa Cruz High, Richard completed a 4-year Carpenters Apprenticeship and soon earned his position as one of the youngest project superintendents in the state of New Mexico working for a large reputable construction firm. Over the years he has attended numerous classes and seminars relating to the construction industy. In 1987 Richard set out on his own and established Blue Sky Builders, Inc. With over 30 years experience in the construction industry, Richard has a clear understanding of what it takes to build a quality facility. The vast knowledge he posesses guides the company as he shares his expertise with everyone involved on Blue Sky Builders projects. Maintaining the reputation he has earned since establishing his own company is important to Richard, and the relationships he develops with his subordinates inspires them to reach the high standards that he expects from them in this competitive industry.
Richard loves horses and spends his free time with the horses he cares for at his Alcalde farm that he shares with his wife Diahann and their two children, Sydney & Erik. Richard also has two sons; Ricardo and Ryan, and eight grandchildren; Kianah, Kyle Courtney, Cole, Noah, Maci and Josh.
